People who have never prayed the rosary often picture it as a marathon: fifty Hail Marys, a dozen mysteries, beads to track, Latin somewhere. It can be. But it doesn't have to be on your first day.
Start with one decade. One decade is ten Hail Marys wrapped by one Our Father and one Glory Be. You focus on a single mystery — say, the Annunciation — and you hold it gently while the familiar words recur. Three or four minutes.
That's it. You've prayed the rosary. You've done what St. Dominic and generations of Catholics have done, at a scale your lungs can actually hold today.
Tomorrow, try two decades. The week after, five. In a month, the full mystery-set takes you about fifteen minutes, and it will have become something you look forward to rather than something you intend to get around to.
In Orantes we start new users with the Joyful Mysteries because they carry the gospel in their first stirrings — an angel, a visitation, a birth. If that's you tonight, press play. The app will do the counting for you.
